John Dangberg is the Assistant City Manager for the City of Sacramento.
His primary area of responsibility is to lead Sacramento’s economic
development agenda for high quality employment opportunities and economic
growth. He also leads downtown and waterfront redevelopment efforts and
serves as the City’s chief negotiator on major high profile special
projects.
Prior to joining the City, John served as the President of USA Multifamily
Development a division of USA Properties Fund. USA is one of the most
active affordable housing development companies in the State. John oversaw
USA’s land acquisition, entitlement processing, and development
financing activities.
John also served as the Executive Director of the Capitol Area Development
Authority, or CADA, where he led efforts to bring urban mixed-use and
mixed-income housing to the central city of Sacramento.
Before that, he served as the Director of Community Development for the
Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency. In John’s career at
SHRA, he led a wide variety of redevelopment, economic development and
affordable housing projects, and programs in the both the City and County
of Sacramento.
