William Bassitt


William Bassitt is the President/CEO of Stanislaus Economic Development and Workforce Alliance. In that capacity he created the organization structure, staffing, financing and operational plan for an organization that integrates economic development with workforce needs. His leadership efforts led to designation of one of the largest Enterprise Zones in California. He currently is leading an economic development program which focuses on employment sectors in logistics and goods movement, biotechnology, agriculture, and agri-tech ventures.

Prior to creating and joining the Stanislaus Economic Development and Workforce Alliance, William was President of The Bassitt Group, Inc., a professional consulting firm which focused on brokering relationships between Chinese auto parts manufacturers and suppliers with domestic auto supplier companies. William's auto expertise came from his experience as Senior Vice President of Economic Development for Detroit Regional Chamber, and as the Executive Director for Detroit's Regional Economic Partnership.

Williams has an extensive background in chamber of commerce leadership. He was President/CEO of both St. Joseph Area (Missouri) Chamber of Commerce and Lima Area (Ohio) Chamber of Commerce.
