"Working at CALED has been a wonderful experience so far. I'm really looking forward to learning more about economic development while working towards my goal of being a teacher some day."

Rachael Alexander joined the CALED team in the fall of 2004 after returning to Sacramento to be close to family. She assists staff with special projects, member services, front desk duties, and other office-related functions. Recently, her duties have expanded to include coordinating our Board of Director’s meetings, as well as assisting with other special events and trainings held by CALED.

Rachael approaches her position with great enthusiam and enjoys the opportunity to help our members get answers to their questions. More often than not, she is the person who answers the phone when you call in.

Rachael grew up in Chico, where she also attended the California State University, Chico on a Vocal Scholarship. She is currently pursuing a degree in Liberal Studies with a minor in Music/Voice Performance from California State University, Sacramento. She will be graduating soon and looks forward to becoming a primary teacher. As well as working for CALED, she is also weekend nanny. She takes on this responsibility to further her career with children.

Although, she does not plan on pursing economic development as a career, she understands how important it is and appreciates this chance to learn more about it.
